The successful tender was 81,056,666 and was made
under the names of Chau Shing and Siu In. The second tender was one in which the Hongkong Farmer had a large interest.
The tenderers represent a large syndicate. The capital is 8600,000 in 8 usin shares of 875,000 orch, but they are prepared to put up $300,000 more if required. Chau Shing represents the Wo Lung piece goods shop of Queen's Road Central Hongkong. Siu In is one Lui Wai-tong of the Tseung On Bank, Queen's Road Central, Hongkong. Lok Mun alias Mok Tsing-kong who has been a clerk with
the Hongkong Opium Firmer for over ten years has been appointed
Manager.

The following firms have also a fairly substantial interest: The Man Wo, Nam Pak Hong, Boniam Strand W. Hongkong, Tin Yuen How Opium Merchants Hongkong, Tung Fuk Cheung Raw Opin
Merchants Lacao, Kwong Cheung Silk Merchants Lacao.
In addition to the above there appear to be a large
number of suall holders many of whom are persons who have been
interested in tue illicit export business to America and Manila.
